Job Description: Assist team’s media relations and public relations departments
Assist in the development of team’s publications and press releases
Sell Marketing and Ticket packages
Assist with team’s youth programs and directives
Assist in obtaining team’s objectives
Assist with game day operations
Maintain all information systems, database information
Generate appropriate reports

Desired Experience: Quality candidates must be creative minded, willingness to sell professional baseball to clientele, possess solid communications skills and be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Individual must work successfully in a team environment and be able to utilize a wide variety of computer applications. Excellent writing and organization skills are imperative. Experience (or at least ability) writing/working under a deadline preferred.

Compensation: Unpaid

Candidates will receive experience in all areas of operation including: stadium operations, media relations, community relations, tickets, promotions, merchandise, marketing, groups, etc.

The Suns are looking for successful self-starters who have the desire to grow with the organization. It is imperative that interested individuals are able to multi-task and are willing to work in a team atmosphere to reach organizational goals. In the past five years the Suns have hired seven interns on as full-time staff members.

The Media Relations Assistant will be handling a significant role in all publications (Program, Media Guide, etc.) and press releases the team produces. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing is vital in a qualified candidate. Candidate may have an opportunity for some broadcast duties, and will work closely with Director of Broadcasting.

Entertainment Intern -PAID - Hagerstown Suns (Hagerstown, MD)

Job Description: The Entertainment Intern will assist in executing a quality, family-fun sports entertainment experience through the use of audio, human resources, and on-field entertainment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create, plan, and implement entertainment segments from Gates Open until last fan exits.
• Work directly with Entertainment Director to interview, hire, train, orient, manage, motivate, and lead entertainment department staff.
• Develop Pre-game and Game Scripts for each home game.
• Assist in rehearsing all skits and contests with all entertainment staff members.
• Develop Master PA Script book.
• Plan, create, rehearse, and implement, entertainment inning breaks.
• Purchase all music, props, costumes, uniforms and tech equipment.
• Oversee mascot costume repairs.
• Perform mascot appearances when needed.
• Plan and execute National Anthem Auditions and determine who will be performing the National Anthem, contact, and schedule National Anthems.
• Attend brainstorming sessions for creating new entertainment inventory.
• Liaison with other departments to accomplish department objectives (i.e., work with marketing in regards to natural fills, first pitches, on field promotions, friends and family nights, etc.).
• Liaison with Mandalay Creative on any entertainment material that is to be produced.
• Create work schedule for game day staff.
• Create rehearsal schedules and Dry Run Day schedule.
• Design and order promotional and giveaway items (i.e., kids club shirts, giveaway shirts, hats, bobbleheads, etc.).
• Assist Entertainment Director with planning and executing all Special Events.

Job Description: In order to gain a full understanding/appreciation of what is required to operate a sports facility on a daily basis and in particular during events, this internship will assist with and operate daily activities in any area of ballpark operations as needed.

? Spearhead and work closely with other departments and staff to improve the overall Stadium Appearance and Fan Experience (i.e. game – day inspections, capital improvements, and general upkeep).
? Understand and implement various facility budgets, and leverage these facility budgets to bring greater revenue generation.
? Proactively manage the overall service schedules and maintenance program for the entire facility to include: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security system, sound system, trash removal, and other components.
? Proactively manage other stadium elements to include: onsite and offsite storage, kids zone logistics, awnings, tents, and concourse tables.
? Coordinate ordering, and inventory of supplies, cleaning products, and stored goods.
? Hire and direct cleaning crew to produce the cleanest facility possible.
? Work with Fireworks Company on the implementation of our firework shows.
? Work closely and in cooperation with the Head Groundskeeper.
? Hire, train, and supervise Gameday employees in areas such as kid’s zone, ballpark cleaners, and grounds crew.

Description:
We are seeking a positive and passionate individual that is committed to becoming a sales industry leader. This position requires participation in a 9 month, career growth-oriented sports sales development program, which focuses on developing the skills needed to become a full menu sales professional. The intent of this program is to expand the applicant’s abilities to a level that will merit consideration for a promotion to a full time position within the sports industry following successful completion of the program. The responsibilities include selling season tickets, partial season ticket plans, group tickets and picnics. Revenue will be generated via phone (outbound and inbound calls), email marketing, face to face presentations, ballpark tours and out-of-office appointments.

Responsibilities:
• Sell new full season tickets, partial season ticket plans, group tickets and picnics
Make 100 outbound phone calls daily
• Set appointments, show seats, and give ballpark tours with the intent to close business
• Answer incoming single game calls with the ability to up-sell callers into packages, groups, and suite rentals
• Work games, nights, weekends and holidays as assigned (i.e. answer phones, work sales booths, visit clients)
• Represent the organization at in-house ballpark events and off-site community events promoting tickets
• Prospect and qualify all potential sales opportunities in addition to the leads you are provided
• Maintain computerized records of all season ticket customers and prospects
• Provide excellent customer service to prospects and current clients over the phone and at games
• Assist customer service efforts (mailing invoices, tickets, etc…)
• Attend weekly meetings and role-play sessions
• Meet or exceed weekly and monthly sales goals

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sport Management, Marketing or related field
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which includes home games, nights, weekends and holidays as assigned
• Desire to be a sales industry leader
